Hey, awesome job!
Your vacancy has made me very enthusiastic, down below you’ll find my motivation, CV and portfolio.
Dear readers of Eurail/Interrail,
I would like to apply for the position of Video Editor. I am a self-taught video- and photographer. At this moment I’m looking for a challenging job in this field in which I can apply and further develop my knowledge and professional competences. I became very enthusiastic about your organisation and this vacancy. In this letter of motivation I will tell you why.
Since the end of 2015 I’ve been seriously engaged with video-and photography, which I still find absolutely great. So far, I’ve mainly focused on travel videos and travel photographs. Four years ago I spent 5 weeks in the Philippines, where I spent a lot of time on video- and photography and editing this footage in a video. A while later (2017 to March 2018) I went on a world trip to Asia and New Zealand, where I also kept myself busy with video- and photography. During this trip I made beautiful photos and videos to expand my portfolio. In this time I’ve made strong progress and I’ve found out that videography fascinates me the most. All the extras that I can still learn, I love to! At this moment I’m curious about what else can be gained from the video world, and I would like to further explore and develop this within your travel company.
Why am I suitable for your company? Your company wants a professional video production that I would like to work on as a videographer and travel lover. I’m a hard worker, social, enthusiastic, flexible and eager to learn. I’ve gained work experience since 2015, and in May 2018 I became an independent entrepreneur (XandarVisuals) on a freelance basis. Independency, creativity and customer orientation are of course associated with this. My motivation in videography is always to get people emotionally involved with my videos. I like the path to it; thinking of a concept in a team, creating a strong creative story together, and reinforcing this concept in a video. For me the best job on earth, especially when it comes to the field of traveling!
For me, photography gives me some good variety besides all the videography work I’m doing. This is because an edit for a photo gives a faster result than an average video edit, which is a nice change. I see experience in photography as an advantage in videography. This is because you know how colours work, which in turn benefits the color grade in a video that allows you to bring out a particular style. Furthermore, I’m constantly aware of the trends on Youtube and Instagram, because I follow popular vloggers and other social media influencers. Here I also get inspiration regularly and this can only be positive for your company. I work with a Sony A7iii myself, but I also worked with Canon cameras. It’s pure relaxation for me to see what kind of new stuff there is on the market. A lot of my free time is spent on watching review videos and I’m always well informed about the developments of video equipment. Shortly: I’m eager to unleash my creativity within your company!
The notice period of my current job is one month. My place of residence is in North Limburg, I’m flexible and my availability is fulltime.
